Not always. Apple may limit iPhone warranty service to the country or region where the phone was originally sold. A UAE-bought iPhone is easiest to service in the UAE; an imported one may need to be repaired in its country of sale.
Many UAE residents buy iPhones while travelling, or bring one with them when they move. The phone works on UAE networks, but warranty service is a separate question.
What Apple's terms say
Apple's warranty allows it to restrict iPhone service to the country where Apple or its authorised distributors originally sold the device. In practice, some repairs are accepted in another country and some aren't — it depends on the model and whether local parts are available.
If you seek service outside the country of purchase, you're responsible for any import or export rules, duties and taxes.
Why region matters for iPhone
- SIM hardware differs: US models are eSIM-only, while other regions keep a nano-SIM tray. Parts aren't interchangeable.
- Cellular hardware can differ — US iPhone 18 Pro Max units use a Qualcomm modem; most other regions use Apple's C2.
- Replacement units are allocated per region.
Before you buy abroad
- Check the model works with the SIM setup you use in the UAE (a physical SIM may not be possible on a US model).
- Keep the original invoice — you'll need it for any claim.
- Ask yourself whether you'd be happy to pay for a repair locally if the claim is refused.
- Compare the saving with the value of local warranty and easy resale.
Taking a UAE iPhone abroad
If you move country with a UAE-bought iPhone, check coverage with Apple Support in your new country before assuming a free repair. AppleCare+ bought in the UAE is valid only in the UAE under the terms we reviewed.
Frequently asked questions
Will Apple in Dubai repair a US iPhone under warranty?
Possibly, but it isn't guaranteed. Apple may restrict iPhone warranty service to the country of sale. Call Apple Support with the serial number before visiting.
Does the UAE iPhone have a physical SIM slot?
UAE models have traditionally kept a nano-SIM tray plus eSIM, unlike US models. Check the exact model before buying.
