How to claim your iPhone warranty in the UAE: a step-by-step guide

How to use your Apple iPhone warranty in the UAE: check coverage, book an Apple Store or authorised provider, prepare your phone, and what happens next.

Short answer

Check your coverage with your serial number, back up the phone, then book a repair through the Apple Support app or apple.com/ae/support. Take the phone and proof of purchase to an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider. Defects covered by warranty are repaired or replaced at no charge.

Every new iPhone sold in the UAE comes with Apple's one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Using it is free, but a little preparation makes the visit much faster — and protects your data.

Step 1: Check that your iPhone is still covered

  1. Open Settings › General › About and tap Coverage (or 'Limited Warranty') to see the expiry date.
  2. Or enter the serial number at checkcoverage.apple.com. The serial is in Settings › General › About and on the original box.
  3. If the date looks wrong — for example because you bought the phone weeks after it was activated — keep your invoice. Apple can update the coverage date with proof of purchase.

Step 2: Confirm the problem is a warranty issue

The warranty covers manufacturing defects: a display that develops lines on its own, a speaker that crackles, Face ID that stops working without a drop, a battery that fails early. It doesn't cover accidental damage such as a cracked screen, a bent frame or liquid damage — those are paid repairs unless you have AppleCare+.

Step 3: Book the repair

  • Apple Support app: choose your iPhone, describe the issue and pick a time at a nearby store or provider.
  • apple.com/ae/support: the same booking flow on the web, including chat and call-back options.
  • Walk-in: possible, but a Genius Bar appointment is much faster, especially in the weeks after a launch.
  • Apple has five stores in the UAE: The Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, Yas Mall and Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi, and Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain. Apple Authorised Service Providers in other emirates can also carry out warranty repairs.

Step 4: Prepare your iPhone

  1. Back up to iCloud or a computer. Repairs and replacements can erase the phone.
  2. Note your Apple Account password — you'll need it to turn off Find My if asked.
  3. Remove the case and screen protector, and take out the physical SIM if the phone has a tray.
  4. Bring your invoice or order confirmation and a charging cable.

Step 5: At the appointment

A technician runs diagnostics and inspects the phone. If the fault is covered, Apple chooses whether to repair it, replace it, or — rarely — refund it. A repaired or replacement iPhone carries the rest of your original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer.

Some repairs are done the same day. Others go to a repair centre and take several days; ask for an estimate and a repair number before you leave.

If the claim is refused

  • Ask for the reason in writing and the diagnostic result.
  • If the refusal is for accidental damage you dispute, ask for a second inspection.
  • Your rights under UAE consumer protection law sit alongside Apple's warranty — see our consumer rights guide.
  • If you bought from a retailer, contact the retailer too; it has its own obligations to you.

Frequently asked questions

Is the iPhone warranty free to use?

Yes. Covered defects are repaired or replaced at no charge during the one-year warranty.

Do I need the original box?

No. Proof of purchase helps, but the box isn't required.

Can I claim warranty if I bought my iPhone from a retailer, not Apple?

Yes. Apple's warranty lets you take claims to Apple even if you bought the iPhone from a third party.

How long does an iPhone warranty repair take?

Simple repairs can be same day; mail-in repairs usually take several working days.
