Beyond the camera headlines, iPhone 18 Pro adds Apple Reference Image for verifying unedited photos, Prepare to Ship for storage and transport, Audio Mix with music isolation, Smart Focus Tracking and an 8x optical-quality zoom.
Some of the best iPhone 18 Pro features weren't on stage at launch.
1. Apple Reference Image
Signs the sensor data at capture so a photo can later be verified as unedited — useful for journalists, insurance claims and listings.
2. Prepare to Ship
Limits battery charge for long storage or transport, protecting battery health — handy before you trade in or store a phone.
3. Audio Mix with music isolation
Separate voices from background music in your videos after recording.
4. Smart Focus Tracking
Keeps moving subjects such as children and pets sharp.
5. 8x optical-quality zoom
A 12MP crop from the 48MP telephoto gives a 200mm-equivalent view.
6. Free satellite SOS
Emergency SOS via satellite is free for at least two years, where available — worth knowing for desert driving.
7. Cinematic mode after capture
Adjust focus and depth effects on Cinematic videos up to 60 fps after you shoot.
8. A colour-matched MagSafe back
The Ceramic Shield panel on the back now matches the frame colour.
