Short answer
Update to iOS 27.0.1 (it fixed a 2x photo colour artifact), clean the lenses, check your case and MagSafe accessories, and restart.
The new variable-aperture main camera is a mechanical part, so it's worth knowing what's normal and what isn't.
Quick fixes
- Update to iOS 27.0.1 or later.
- Clean all lenses with a soft cloth.
- Remove your case — a misaligned cutout can cause vignetting or blur.
- Remove magnetic accessories near the camera and test again; strong magnets close to the lens can interfere with stabilisation and the aperture mechanism.
- Force-quit Camera and restart the phone.
- Test in Photo, Video and Portrait modes to see whether one lens or mode is the problem.
When it's a hardware issue
- A rattling or buzzing sound from the camera.
- Persistent black screen on one lens.
- Shaky video even on a tripod.
