For the first time in years, Apple split its launch. The Pro models and iPhone Duo arrived in the autumn; the standard iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2 and iPhone 18e are reported to follow in spring 2027. Apple hasn't announced them, so treat any dates and specs as expectations.

iPhone 18 vs iPhone 18 Pro: what to expect
Apple traditionally keeps the best camera hardware, the Pro display and the top chip for Pro models. Expect the standard iPhone 18 to use a non-Pro chip, no variable-aperture camera and no telephoto lens, at a much lower price. If you want the variable-aperture camera, buy the Pro.
Buy iPhone 17 now if…
- Your current phone is failing or out of updates.
- You want the best value: iPhone 17 is about AED 3,399 for 256GB.
- You don't need Pro cameras.
Wait for iPhone 18 if…
- Your current phone works well and you can comfortably wait about six months.
- You want the newest standard model to keep for four or five years.
